The parade and other Independence Day events draw in crowds on First Street to celebrate our freedom and we here at Stage One are delighted to be a part of the festivities.  Our dancers jumped, kicked and boogied their way down Benicia’s First Street during the Torchlight Parade and performed several numbers from our Showcase 2008 at Benicia’s City Park on the 4th.  These are community events that we look forward to participating in each year and it gives our dancers another opportunity to showcase their talent.

In the summertime we delight in exploring magical world of the Disney Princesses.  Our students ages 2 to 6 enjoy ballet and tap along with craft creation, fascinating stories of imagination and tales of the wonderous story of the Disney Princesses.  On our final day of festivities all the children are magically transformed into beautiful princesses at the enchanting "Disney Princess Ball".  Parents, siblings and other adoring fans all attend the ball with their newly transformed princesses.

The holiday spirit comes alive with Benicia's downtown celebrations and Stage One Dance Center's pre-ballet/tap dancers. Our 3 and 4 year old students delighted the audience with five special holiday dances. The lights went up, the crowds gathered around, and the sounds of the season filled the air. Proud parents beamed, grandparents cooed and siblings giggled and clapped while the dancers tapped and twirled their way through each number.
The tap dance, Peppermint Twist, started the evening after the Benicia downtown Christmas tree had been set aglow. We moved on with Jingle Bell Rock, Spanish Princesses, Jingle Bells, and concluded the show with Here Comes Santa Claus. Santa Claus himself could be found frolicking with the costumed cuties. Our dancers filled the air with laughter and delight with the special nuance of toddler charm. The crowd cheered and applauded the dancers to a joyous end.

Stage One would like to thank the Benicia residents and visitors for the warm welcome we receive with each community performance event. We wish everyone very Happy Holidays and a Spirited New Year!
